Mother knows best!

Here at The Flower Nook we think Mother’s Day is a perfect time to appreciate all that our Mums (or mother figures) have done and continue to still do for us. The Flower Nooks Sophie & Tegan both sat down with their mothers this week to ask them a few questions. It was a beautiful time for us to reflect with them over a cuppa about their experience of motherhood and other aspects of their lives.
What is your favourite flower?
Freesias
___
What are you most proud of?
My daughters
___
What are the primary values you try to live by?
Have empathy for others, be open minded and be a good listener.
___
What did you love about your own mother?
My mum has been a great role model. She has taught me how to manage money, work hard and have a good work ethic. She’s taught me to be well organised and I’ve inherited her love of gardening. I love her love of travel and learning more about the world. She is smart, witty and holds her family and friends very close to her heart.
___
In what ways am I most like you and in what ways are we different?
“Outwardly” we are very sociable, always smiling and generally have a happy disposition. Inwardly there are moments of self doubt. I have always been more conservative with my clothing choices whereas you are very confident in breaking away with your fashion choices and have a very good eye for something different. You always look fabulous and make it look effortless. This is how I see you working with flower arrangements too.
___
What was your childhood like?
I loved my childhood and the very simple pleasures we had! I loved my years at Edwardstown Primary School, regular camping holidays with family and friends. Playing in the back yard with my siblings making pies, cakes and biscuits with “mud” and decorating them with flowers and leaves from the garden. Staying at Grandma and Grandpa’s and having cups of tea with lots of sugar.
___
If you could go back to one moment what would it be?
Sailing in Greece with my girls!
